From Garden to Home Series — This Week’s Herb or Flower

There’s something really special about growing an herb in your garden… and then realizing it can completely transform something as simple as your hair routine.

This week, we’re talking about rosemary — one of my absolute favorites.

Not only is it beautiful and easy to grow, but it’s also incredibly powerful when it comes to hair and scalp health.

Lately, I’ve been making rosemary water at home and incorporating it into my daily routine — and I can honestly say, it’s become something I look forward to using.

🌿 Why Rosemary for Hair?

Rosemary has been used for centuries to support healthy hair growth and scalp balance.

It’s known for its ability to:

  • stimulate hair follicles

  • promote circulation to the scalp

  • support thicker, fuller-looking hair

  • reduce dandruff and dryness

  • strengthen hair from root to end

It’s one of those simple, natural ingredients that truly delivers.

💧 My Simple Rosemary Water Recipe

This is one of the easiest ways to start using rosemary at home.

What You’ll Need:

  • 2–3 sprigs of fresh rosemary (I recommend fresh but you can also use 1–2 tbsp of dried)

  • 2 cups of water

Instructions:

  1. Bring water to a boil.

  2. Add rosemary and reduce heat.

  3. Let simmer for 15–20 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

  5. Strain and pour into a spray bottle.

Store in the fridge and use within 1 week for freshness.

❄️ A Simple Tip to Make It Last Longer

Since rosemary water is only fresh for about a week, I like to pour any extra into ice cube trays and freeze it.

When I need it, I just take one out, let it thaw, and use it like normal.

It’s such a simple way to always have some on hand without wasting anything.

🌙 My Nighttime Routine (This Has Become My Favorite Part)

I personally love using rosemary water at night before bed.

I spray it directly onto my scalp, gently massage it in, and let it sit overnight.

It’s:

  • incredibly relaxing

  • a really grounding way to wind down

  • and I’ve noticed it actually adds volume to my hair over time

It’s become one of those small habits that feels like self-care at the end of the day.

🌿 Keeping It Simple

Right now, my routine looks like this:

  • Rosemary water at night

  • Hair serum once a week as a deeper treatment

That’s it.

Simple, consistent, and effective.

✨ Supporting Your Hair Naturally

Alongside rosemary water, I also created a Hair Serum to support scalp health on a deeper level.

Made with nourishing oils and essential oils like rosemary, peppermint, cedarwood, tea tree, and lavender, it’s designed to:

  • support growth

  • nourish the scalp

  • strengthen hair over time

I like to use it once a week as a more intensive treatment.

🌱 From Garden to Routine

This is what I love most about this lifestyle.

Something as simple as growing rosemary in your garden can turn into:

  • a daily ritual

  • a moment of care

  • a way to support your body naturally

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

🌿 For My Local Community

If you’re local and interested in rosemary, I’m happy to share from my garden 🌿

Rosemary is also incredibly easy to propagate, which means you can start your own plant from just a small cutting.

Sometimes all you need is a starting point.

🤍 Final Thoughts

You don’t need a cabinet full of products to take care of yourself well.

Sometimes it starts with:

  • one plant

  • one simple recipe

  • one small habit

Rosemary is a beautiful place to start.

With love,

Emily
