From Garden to Home Series — This Week’s Herb or Flower

There’s something especially calming about stepping into the garden and seeing lavender in bloom.

Soft purple tones, the most relaxing scent, and a plant that quietly does so much more than just look pretty.

Lavender is one of the herbs I grow the most of, and truly, it finds its way into almost everything I make and use in our home.

🌿 Why Lavender Is So Loved

Lavender has been used for generations for its calming and healing properties.

It’s known to:

  • support relaxation and better sleep

  • calm the nervous system

  • soothe skin irritation

  • reduce inflammation

  • promote a sense of peace and calm

It’s one of those rare plants that supports both the body and the mind.

🌸 How We Use Lavender in Our Home

Lavender is part of our everyday rhythm in simple, meaningful ways.

We use it:

  • in nighttime routines to help wind down

  • in skincare for its gentle, soothing properties

  • in baths for relaxation

  • in simple moments throughout the day when we need to slow down

It pairs beautifully with dim lights, quiet evenings, and creating a peaceful environment before bed.

🧴 A Staple in My Products

Because of how versatile and gentle lavender is, it’s one of the ingredients I use most in my products at Cooper’s Cabin.

You’ll find it in:

  • my magnesium body butter — something we use nightly to relax and wind down

  • my nourishing face cream — for calming and supporting the skin

  • my face toner — for a light, refreshing daily routine

These are all products that started as something I made for our own home, and lavender quickly became a staple in each of them.

🌱 So Easy to Grow (And So Worth It)

One of the things I love most about lavender is how easy it is to grow.

It thrives with:

  • lots of sunlight

  • well-drained soil

  • minimal watering

Once established, it’s low-maintenance and keeps coming back year after year.

And beyond its benefits, it adds so much beauty to the garden. There’s something special about brushing your hand along the plant and catching that calming scent.

🤍 From Garden to Home

Lavender is such a simple reminder that natural living doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it looks like:

  • growing something beautiful

  • using it in your daily routines

  • choosing simple, intentional ingredients

And sometimes… it looks like turning those ingredients into products you can use and trust in your home every day.

With love,

Emily
